A dark forum skin tends to show graphics work better, plus after trawling through hundreds of skins for this site, all of us decided that a dark skin worked better, and was more visually appealing than a white or coloured skin. If you look at the top 100 GFX sites the best sites have a dark forum skin, light skins just don't seem to appeal to people. I know some people who have joined the pimped pixels graphics forum purely because they have a dark forum skin (plus they have some awesome artists 
)
